वासःखण्डमिदं प्रयच्छ यदि वा स्वाङ्के गृहाणार्भकं
रिक्तं भूतलमत्र नाथ भवतः पृष्ठे पलालोच्चयः ।
दम्पत्योरिति जल्पितं निशि यदा चोरः प्रविष्टस्तदा
लब्धं कर्पटमन्यतस्तदुपरि क्षिप्त्वा रुदन्निर्गतः ।।

"Give me the blanket
or at least take the kid!"
"The floor is bare here, honey,
and you've got that pile of straw!"
As the couple argued thus in the night
the thief who had broken in
tossed in the tattered robe
he'd stolen from somewhere else
and slipped out in tears.
