śārdūlavikrīḍitam

Time and again, countless times, my friend,
in this grove of mango trees,
have I been steeped in the chirping
of the male cuckoo birds,
coursing through the channel of my ears.

But why now, all of a sudden,
when I hear that lovely sound,
do my limbs tremble,
my eyes flutter,
and my heart suffer so much?
