जॊण्हाऊरिय-कोस-कंति-धवले सव्वंग-गंधुक्कडे
णिव्विग्घं घर-दीहियाऎ सुरसं वेवंतओ मासलं ।
आसाएइ सुमंजु-गुंजिय-रवो तिंगिच्छि-पाणासवं
उम्मिल्लंत-दलावली-परियओ चंदुज्जुए छप्पओ ॥

“The moonlight lights up the filaments of a night lotus in our pond:
it’s a lovely white, and its fragrance rich and strong.
A bee, buzzing beautifully, is bumbling all around
and now he stops on it, encircled by petals just opening up,
to savor the liquor of its nectar, abundant and full of rasa.”
